Disclaimer: Welcome to my spoiler-free journal. This is where I record my thoughts and feelings as they pertain to what the hell I just wrote. I may explore writing craft, productivity techniques, bemoan running out of my favorite snack, or anything else. You've been warned!

Hi from the future!

Back on the 6th, I didn’t write an entry. It is now the 15th, and boy have things escalated! I took an entire week to dig into Sarah’s story and do some much-needed worldbuilding.

I’ve recently developed the opinion that the idea is greater than the execution of that idea (this totally goes against everything I’ve been taught). Of course, there’s some balance needed. Terrible execution will ruin even the best ideas, but decent execution mixed with a great idea will yield an entertaining story.

And that’s what I aim to produce: entertaining stories.

Taking the whole next week to world build has given me a chance to really dig into the ideas of the world and make them fun. One of my new favorite classes is the Lux, a light weaver. This class comes from the firefly.

Why do those of Shadow have the coolest classes, hmm? It’s unfortunate that those of Shadow haven’t received much time in the first two Arachnomancer books. Book three, however, should be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to write it.

But first, I need to finish Sarah’s novel. It’s kicking my butt. I’m confident in my ability to make the story work; it will just take time.

Wish me luck. :)
